Meng Lee was part of the team that founded August Consulting in May 2002 and brings with him communications experience in consumer, technology and investor relations accounts. Prior to that, he had joined Scotchbrook-BSMG in August 2000.
Creative Technology (a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products), Olympus (an industry leader in opto-digital technologies and pioneer in the digital camera market), and StarHub (a Singapore-based info-communications company providing a full range of voice and data services over fixed, mobile and Internet platforms) are some of the consumer/technology clients that Meng Lee has worked with at both agencies.
During this tenure at August Consulting and Scotchbrook-BSMG, Meng Lee has also launched a number of initial public offerings for companies seeking a listing on the Singapore Exchange, and has worked with several public-listed companies from a wide spectrum of industries to develop and implement investor relations programmes.
Prior to Scotchbrook-BSMG, he was part of another public relations agency that focused on marketing/corporate communications, and developed publicity and media relations programme for consumer and technology accounts such as Apple, Electrolux, Fedex, and Telstra. He also leveraged on strategic opportunities/trade events to maximise and establish product branding and corporate positioning for these clients.
Back in 2000 when Apple was only used by the minority (5% of the PC market), Meng Lee played an instrumental role in raising the profile of the Apple as an innovative and user-friendly company through the use of strategic media relations. He also provided strategic counsel and recommendations for Apple and helped to launch several Apple desktops and portable computers in Singapore.
Meng Lee has a Bachelor of Communication (Public Relations) from the University of Canberra, Australia. Prior to that, he graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore, with a Diploma in Mass Communications, specialising in advertising and public relations.
