Janice joined August Consulting in June 2011, bringing with her over 12 years of experience in multiple marketing disciplines in media relations, public relations, advertising, partnerships, sponsorships, events, brand management and customer relationship management.
Prior to joining August Consulting, Janice was Head of Corporate Communications with Courts Asia, the largest consumer electronics and furniture retailer in Southeast Asia, managing media relations, product launches, corporate social responsibilities, sponsorships and crisis management for both Singapore and Malaysia. Some of the key projects during her tenure there included organising PR events for the sponsorship of S-League team Courts Young Lions and partnership with New York Cosmos to bring football legends Pele and Eric Cantona to Singapore. Janice was also involved in organising big scale charity events such as Charity Golf Tournament and Charity Dinner for over 500 guests.
Janice also spent seven years in the hospitality industry from 2003 to 2009, managing hotels in Asia for HPL Hotels & Resorts, Millennium & Copthorne and Swissotel The Stamford, as Regional Marketing Communications Manager. Her role entailed marketing of boutique resorts and 4/5-star hotels in popular destinations such as Maldives, Langkawi, Bali, Koh Samui, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Shanghai. Her responsibilities included developing marketing strategies and budgets, advertising plans, organising media trips, promotions and partnerships, and database and website management, as well as crisis management for the hotels during the natural disaster events - SARs in 2003, the Asian Tsunami in 2004 and Bali bombing in 2005.
From 1997 to 2002, Janice was with Scotchbrook-BSMG. During her five years with the agency, Janice was involved in Initial Public Offering projects, investor relations, issues management, product launches and factory/office openings for a portfolio of clients from IT, manufacturing, food & beverage, logistics and property to telecom industries. Some high profile projects she was involved in included representing Effective Capital on the repurchase of Malaysia CLOB shares and issues management for Inno-Pacific.
Janice has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies from the University of London and a Diploma in Business Studies from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
